Texstudio no dictionary found3/11/2023 ![]() ![]() FYI on my own machines, I run Debian Bullseye and this is not an issue. Dropdown menu for dictionary selection only shows .You can however achieve something similar for fixed word lists by scripting. No dictionaries configured even though the dictionaries show up in c:\Program Files\texstudio\dictionaries. There is no word completion (also not for words that already appear in the document). zip unzip the files in a folder In TeXstudio preference, under Spell Checking Dictionary, change. One could start the 'TeXLive command line' via the start menu, and then start TeXstudio from there, but configuring TS one should be the better way. TeXstudio only has a command completion (based on the cwl files). ![]() But I am not a programmer, so please let me know if it is just a stupid mistake of mine. Postby Stefan Kottwitz Thu 12:35 pm I think it should be manually configured the first time, except if the executables have been added to the system PATH. For example, an advocate who appears before a court with a single judge could describe that judge as 'their tribunal. ![]() I think, you need to either change where dictionaries are stored (if not read-only folders still exist anywhere on Windows), or guide users to another solution. A tribunal, generally, is any person or institution with authority to judge, adjudicate on, or determine claims or disputeswhether or not it is called a tribunal in its title. I checked, and you can manually update en_US.ign elsewhere, paste it into "C:\Program Files\texstudio\dictionaries" and it works. I thought it's a minor bug or my mistake, but googling and poking around suggests it's a very serious issue: "C:\Program Files\texstudio\dictionaries" seems to be set as read-only by Windows and, while you can uncheck that as an "administrator", it goes back to default once you leave the folder. We also explain how to download the dictionaries and import it. The red flag disappears but once you close Texstudio and open it again, this word is flagged again because en_US.ign file is not updated. In this short video, we will see how to add dictionaries to check the spellings in TeXstudio. "Add to dictionary" (for the words that are correct but are flagged red by the spell-checker) will update the en_US.ign file. ![]()
